Nearly done, I think, with Superman and Lois Lane…although I still have plenty of red and blue paint.  I’m happy with the saturation, but think I’ve inhaled enough cobalt and cadmium for awhile.

Cacophony

Last weekend there were no baseball games, football games or soccer games so there was plenty of free parking around the Sodo building where my studio is located.  Other artists on my floor also took advantage of this happy, happy and very rare event, and we all had our music blaring…something we don’t do during the week when the regular businesses are doing regular business.  Coming up through the floorboards from the shop downstairs  heavy metal was blasting,  while the watercolor artists next door went classical.   I started out with Paul Simon, but switched to Lenard Cohen and was happily singing along (and murdering the lyrics!) while I slathered paint and jiggle-danced around with paintbrush in hand.  Walking out into the hallway I could hear talk radio and, from somewhere down the hall,  Nina Simone.   No country…no reggae …but it was still early in the day.    Worked on a couple of paintings, finishing none…maybe too much dancing around…but did finish this one yesterday….continuing the Superman and Lois Lane series because it’s fun and because I have a truckload of red and blue paint.
